Bubbly week!

A secret admirer recently sent me this picture, saying he immediately thought of me. Well, I do not really know how to take it, but that's cute, so here it is!
Have a bubbly week everyone (here, fashion week kicks off, which means a lot of work in perspective...)!

Sundays are for lovers

And what if life is all about changing your coffee shop?
New coffee shop, new perspectives?
One of my favorite pleasures during the week-end, when I happen to be in Paris, is to buy the press and settle at the terrace of the coffee shop across the street. I just adore sinking in the news, getting drunk with the crazy rumours of the world, being ravished by the colors of Elle...
There are so many things to express, and so little to say.
And what if happiness is all about this kind of little pleasures?
My boiling café-crème, the first bite in my almond croissant, picking up the grains of sugar on the table,  finding a coin under my chair, chitchatting with the garçon de café, with my old neighbor, with the florist, the baker, the janitor...
Some times ago, an ex pretender would get upset with me sinking in the newspapers on Sunday without paying attention to him, he thought we would soon look like an old couple, having nothing to say to each other. Well, truth is that I realized I actually had nothing to say to him anymore, and the problem was soon solved. I still enjoy my reading on Sundays, and I'm better alone.
But this morning, there was no more table for me at my favorite spot. We had to find another one, which happened to be even sunnier than my usual one.
At least Gizmo lets me read Le Monde and Elle, while he is sunbathing. I gained fresh ideas on a problem that is torturing me, a wise decision, and some freckles on my nose.
New terrace, new perspectives.

A touch of Glamour

I know it's been all over the net few weeks ago, but someone I love* once said "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield into it". Therefore, I cannot resist to share this video with you.

It is the first Tom Ford RTW woman show in years...
Even though I am not a Fordesque-fan, I must admit I was quite impressed by his movie last year, "A single Man", which, for many reasons, and not only the performance of Colin Firth, really moved me. And his boutique palaces I have visited in Milan or Dubai reflect an opulence and a bravoure that one should underline in such a difficult time.
But it is not the clothes that capture my imagination and ravish me in this show, it is the glamour that exudes from every plan.
I have no idea if the real life show was that fantastic, but Mr Ford took 3 months to prepare and polish this video, which is the best teaser, and the best PR ever on a collection.
Only divas, or "women who inspire him" were featuring his clothes, and they seemed to enjoy every moment. Known for his attention to each detail, Mr Ford left nothing to the unknown: the mesmerizing music by Karen Elson, Terry Richardson shooting the divas, the bright red lipstick and big smiles on all lips... Karen, Daphne, Julianne, Natalia, Emmanuelle, Marisa, all seemed to enjoy the champagne, the party and... -one hopes- the fashion.

* you surely have recognized Oscar Wilde, haven't you?

Welcome Home!

Welcome to my new blog, which is the English "reflection" of my French blog Mademoiselle Fanny A Paris!
Here I attend to share my passion of Paris, travelling, shoes, art, books and many other things!

After many years spent away from home (I've been living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, these past 6 years), I've finally returned to Paris. Maybe that's why I have a special eye on Paris and Parisian situations, I'd like to share here.
Also, I consider myself blessed and I cannot be thankful enough for the luck I have. My life here seems like a dream, and even though I have no f%*¨)&@ idea what projects I will kick of, I know i am exactly where I should be right now....

Last but not least, after 5 years in a melting pot such as Dubai, I have many friends from everywhere in the world (Peru to Taiwan, South Africa to Japan, San Francisco to Beyrouth) who want to know what to do and where to go in Paris the second time around, once you've seen and visited all the touristic shitty places such as Champs-Elysées, and Eiffel Tower. For your information, a real Parisian never goes there, unless there is a really good reason. Instead I will whisper you insider's secret about Paris, crème de la crème addresses where to go, what to do,... so you'll soon feel home in a place like Paris!

So follow in my footsteps, and enjoy!

PS: Although I'm a French national, I'll try to write in English, so excuse my French, sometimes.
